A Year of Jubilee. The concept of "Jubilee" is powerful. Put simply, it represents justice, community, renewal, liberation, and dignity. Jubilee Year L.A. (JYLA) is that concept in action.
If these are things that inspire you, that you believe in, a year of service with JYLA may be a perfect way to turn inspiration into practice, beliefs into tangible change. |
A Legacy of Service.Founded in 1991 as the Episcopal Urban Intern Program (EUIP), Jubilee Year has been responding to the needs of our community, serving the greater Los Angeles area for over 25 years.
In that time, our corps has touched thousands of lives through service, community building, and changemaking in partnership with more than 50 of L.A.'s most innovative and effective community-minded organizations. |

A Commitment to Justice. Each fall, young adults from all over the world come to Los Angeles to learn, to live, and to serve. More than 250 young adults have exemplified this commitment to growth and justice as corps members with Jubilee Year. Through our continued dedication to community and to service, we're raising up a new generation of changemakers for the world.

"I continue to feel so lucky to be where I am right now. I feel so lucky, however, that it almost makes me angry... I'm sad for people who are suffering, angry at people who don’t care, scared for everything that the future holds - but also in a way that is new, given the current circumstances." |
I take a walk every day to get some fresh air and exercise, and even though I take roughly the same route, each time I’m overwhelmed with wonder and gratitude because I still feel so lucky to be here. I keep thinking about how, if I could go back and tell year-ago Jayne what was in store for her, she would be in complete disbelief. JYLA has opened so many doors for me... |
