Homelessness, immigration, food justice, racial reconciliation - JYLA corps members dive deep into these social issues and many more during their Year of Service.

Partners in Change.

Corps members spend their year doing meaningful, necessary service at community-minded organizations who need the extra support. More than an internship, corps members are thrust into positions of leadership, given the ability to create, to innovate and to use their skills to enhance their host organization. Corps members walk away from their experience having gained professional skills that will not only make them competitive, but will also help them succeed in their next endeavors.

JYLA service sites also benefit greatly from this partnership. JYLA places few restrictions on how corps members can serve. From politics and protests to interfaith and spirituality work, corps members can dig deep and get their hands dirty! JYLA works hard to select only highly motivated, committed, intelligent, compassionate volunteer corps members. With supervision and a clear purpose, JYLA corps members can become great assets to their service sites.

"Corps members are a great help and always ready to step in when we need a hand. They have completely transformed our garden space and are a great addition to our staff!"

Natalie Sanmuri | Delaney Wright Fine Arts Preschool

"The corps members at Seeds of Hope are fantastic. They fit right in with our team and are able to do a bit of everything - from digging in the garden to speaking with nutrition class participants, they're involved with all of the work that we do and make a huge difference."

Steve Trapasso | Seeds of Hope
